Hi I first meet Pat and her team in August 25, with a view of mum starting her club. I had looked at other clubs which i was not keen on for various reason. I could also tell mum was not happy.

However, i did not need to worry about leavimg my mum in pats club. From the minute you walked through the door its was like family, it was as though you known Pat and her team for ever.

Mum started in the september and i have nevwr looked back. Mum is happy, content, she really looks forward to going to club she gets spoilt rotten. The rest of her peers are wonderful and they have a good laugh during the day. Even on day trips. I can honestly say that it has been the best decision I do not know what I would do without pat and her team

You guys are amazing ❤️

Memory Lane has literally been a life saver for my Mum, as well as for us as a family. We've watched Mum thrive in the safe, dementia friendly space created by the Memory Lane staff. She's made new friends and gained the sense of community she badly needed when she moved to be with us after the loss of my Dad. My partner and I have been welcomed wholeheartedly into that community too. The staff are kind, compassionate, dedicated and inspirational. Memory Lane role models what the wider Care Sector should be

just wanted to share how my mother Jean absolutely loves coming to Memory Lane. My mother is very sociable and has missed out in recents year to independently socialise with other people and has had to rely on family to help her engage with this. Memory Lane has provided her with the opportunity to not only socialise but to keep her independence skills and allow her to keep some autonomy. She has had the opportunity to take part in activities she has never experienced with gentle guidance and encouragement.

The staff treat her with warmth, dignity and respect and are not only professional in their role but friendly and kind. My mum feels safe and welcomed in their care.

We are so glad we have found Memory Lane as not only it provides a welcome break for my Dad but continues to give my mother the stimulation and independence she deserves

Thank you

Firstly I would like to thank you all for welcoming me into your wonderful group to volunteer.

As a home care provider we want to be able to give back to our local community and offer our skills and knowledge by volunteering in your group hopefully till the end of the year. This is an opportunity to be able to work alongside each other supporting people and their families.

I found out about Memory Lane through a family member and spoke to Pat about volunteering. Memory Lane feels like a family and all who attend are welcomed into the group with kindness and respect.

My overall feeling and experience of this group is a positive one, the staff and volunteers welcome all who attend like family. This group is also a great support to families of all who attend.

Kind regards

Paula

Just wanted to thank you for the wealth of support you provide for both me and John both through Memory Lane and on an individual basis. Since John attending for the past year you have helped him to get involved and enjoy the line dancing, singing , therapies and many other activities that he would never have entertained previously. You and your dedicated staff have provided warmth, empathy, friendship, laughter and valued help as John's dementia sadly progresses. You are also a huge support and help to me knowing I can leave him in a safe and happy environment. Thank you once again to you and your staff for being there. Regards Jackie

I found out about Memory Lane when I took my partner Tony to an appointment at the Memory Clinic in Whiston, Merseyside in 2017. Tony was diagnosed at that appointment with MCI (mild cognitive impairment) but I already knew that Tony had some sort of dementia.

I picked up one of Memory Lanes leaflets and phoned to ask for more details. And thank goodness I did, as the Memory Lane support group became a huge part of our lives and we made lifelong friends.

Not only was it good for Tony, getting us out of the house, but I got lots of support and advice from the other more experienced carers.

We did lots of activities including carpet bowls, darts, quizzes, singing, music, therapies etc and we enjoyed some lovely days out with our new friends who were all so lovely and understanding of Tonys needs. Memory Lane held parties for Halloween, Christmas etc and are legendary!

Sadly, 2 years later, my concerns were justified and Tony was diagnosed with vascular dementia.

Pat, who runs Memory Lane, then started a respite centre half a mile from our house and Tony was one of their first clients. He attended twice week which gave me a few hours to myself to catch up on jobs, paperwork or just have a catch-up with my friends.

I would have been lost without Memory Lane and especially Pat. Tony loved Pat as she made him laugh. He joined in the activities but especially loved the music and dancing and he taught everyone to salsa dance (which is how Tony and I met). He was so tired when he got home he always needed a nap.

Tonys dementia advanced over the years and he is now in a care home as his needs became to much for us all to manage - but he had such good times at Memory Lane and was so well looked after by Pat and her team of lovely, understanding carers.

I will forever be grateful.

Keep up the good work Pat.

My mum has been attending Memory Lane for a year now, two days per week. I am not sure where we would be now without this crucial support as this respite offers my father the chance to rest, catch up with his own things and recuperate.

My mum during the year she has attended has had the opportunity to socialise in a safe and very caring environment, where all the clients are treated by staff like they are their own family members. They are always warmly welcomed whilst nothing is too much trouble with the care they provide to my mum and other clients.

I truly believe the stimulation and opportunities my mum has had at memory lane has prevented further decline in her cognition, allowing her to participate in fun and interesting activities, socialising and keeping her mind active.

The support offered does not just end at my mum's care  but also to the wider family members when all staff provide a listening ear,

advice and support, which is often much needed when caring for family members experiencing dementia.

Memory Lane has been a lifesaver and certainly

improved my mum's life experiences during this awful illness, while providing respite to my father.

my mother Jennifer spent 7 months at Memory Lane. This was so beneficial to mum and to myself as mums main carer.  During my mums time at Memory Lane she enjoyed the connections and friendships that she made. The music, dancing, therapies and the warm and friendly atmosphere.   Nothing was to much trouble for Pat and her team.  I knew mum was safe and happy there as Pat always made sure I knew how mum was doing with regular updates and photographs of all the activities mum joined in with.

Unfortunately  due to mums deteriotion mum is now unable to attend on a regular basis. Although I do try to take my mum to the many extra activities that Pat organises. Parties, tea dances etc.    Mum loves them. I can see her world light up.

I am so grateful for the time mum spent at Memory Lane during the hardest time of her life.  After loosing our dad .

I wanted to.give something back so I asked Pat if I could ever join her team as to see the happiness this brings to the clients and valued respite to the carers and families is  priceless.

Memory Lane is the best place to work,  I skip in each time.  That I hope this work goes from.strength to strength and expands all over the country.

So once again thankyou Pat . Myself  and family are forever grateful
